Tacos 'n Tequila & "Sizzling in the Tropics" BBQ Cook-off

Tacos 'n Tequila (Ages 21 and over only) is scheduled for March 8 and includes Craft Cocktail Showcase and Tacos from local restaurants and live music performance. The BBQ Competition scheduled for March 9 includes All-You-Can-Sample from 30 teams, soft drinks, live bands and access to beer garden (Ages 21 and over only).

This event will be held at the Chamber on Friday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the night before the “Sizzling in the Tropics” BBQ Cook-off and will feature 10 of our areas top local restaurants creating custom craft cocktails with Embajador Tequila. The event will also feature tacos made by The Republic of the Rio Grande, SALT – New American Table, Palenque Grill and H-E-B which will feature shrimp, fish, beef and quesadillas this year. Tacos will be served to guests as they enjoy the delicious craft cocktails and live musical performance.

“Sizzling in the Tropics” BBQ Cook-off scheduled for the following day, Saturday, March 9 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. The cook-off will feature 30 of our local BBQ Cook-off teams competing to see who creates the best Chicken Wings, Pulled Pork, Ribs, Brisket, Charro Beans and Pan de Campo. Attendees can sample all the meats plus enjoy a beverage garden and live music performed by four local bands. The cook-off will also feature a classic car show by the South Texas MOPAR Car Club. Children 10 and under accompanied by an adult eat free!
