H-E-B and the McAllen Chamber invite you to be part of the 6th annual “Sizzling in the Tropics” BBQ Cook-off scheduled for April 22 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, 1200 Ash Avenue, McAllen, TX.
Thirty-five cooking teams will be competing for the best Ribs, Brisket, Pulled Pork, Chicken, Jack-Pot Beans, and Jack-Pot Pan de Campo. The teams will also compete in Showmanship and a People’s Choice Award. The Grand Champion team will receive a $500 cash prize. The BBQ Cook-off also includes live bands, a beer garden and a car show with the South Texas MOPARS with all classic makes and models invited to participate.
There will also be live performances! Among them are The Tony Perez Band, Mario Aleman, Arzalez Band, The Riverside Boys and Benny Ybarra & the Family!
Kids 10 and under (must be accompanied by an adult) eat free at the BBQ Cook-off.
